Hi, I'm Rachel.
I paint abstract landscapes and find joy and peace when create something beautiful for others to enjoy.
One of my favourite moments is seeing my new artwork hanging in its forever home and seeing the positive impact I’ve made on my client’s lives. This is when my art finally comes to life and its true purpose and meaning is achieved.
The places I frequently visit in nature have become my muse. Inspiration spills out onto the canvas when I see the precarious granite outcrops of Girraween National Park, soak in the majestic coastal beauty of Yuraygir, and even watch the daylight fall from my veranda.
I love to see how paintings inspired from nature infuse spaces with positive energy.

After winning the Art Award in my senior year of high school, I knew I had to pursue an artistic career. I completed a Diploma in Art (Interior Design) at the Queensland College of Art. And worked in the design industry for several years.
I then moved to Canberra and completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (with Honours) at the Australian National University. Later I lived and worked in London for many years before returning to Brisbane with my young family.
This depth of study and experience has given me a broad range of visual art and design skills. And it has helped me learn to look at the world with a broad vision to see all the beauty it has to offer.

Commisions
I enjoy working with clients on a commissioned basis, as well as creating my own bodies of work. Often the idea of commissioning artworks feels both attractive and daunting.
I find great pleasure in guiding clients through the commission process. As an Australian abstract artist, I am always happy to discuss your ideas. Or chat about how a specific painting might work in a space.

I create art that complements the uniqueness of each space and the lives associated with it. I also have customers interstate and overseas that are drawn to the calm chaos of Australian landscapes.

As a lover of light, I’m excited to bring the joy of our natural landscapes into your home. I hope my art will enable homeowners to reflect and feel their everyday lives are enriched through my works. I paint a range of colours, movements and textures as well as sizes, which can energise and make your home unique.
